Ahead of the 2019 Campeones Cup final between Atlanta United and Club America, both clubs teamed up with the Latin American Association (LAA) and Sequoyah Middle School in metro Atlanta to refurbish a soccer space utilized by the community and LAA’s youth mentorship program.

The community initiative around every Campeones Cup final is a primary focus for MLS and LIGA MX and their commitment to making an impact on the local community.

The project in Atlanta included refurbishing the school’s soccer field with new sod, soccer lines and new goals. Equipment was also donated and the complex features a mural produced by local artist Thomas Turner.

Toronto FC and Tigres UANL also teamed up to make a difference in the city of Toronto in 2018, joining forces to visit kids at a local children's hospital and sharing gifts, games and activities with over 70 children. The video is a memorable one.
