This Friday’s Leagues Cup action will see **CF Monterrey** go up against **Portland Timbers** in their Round of 32 clash. Here’s all you need to know about the game.
The Mexican outfit go into the match unbeaten so far at Leagues Cup, having won both of their fixtures so far. Not only did they come out on top twice, but they did so in convincing fashion. They saw off Real Salt Lake 3-0 in their opening fixture, before running out 4-2 winners over the Seattle Sounders in the following match.
The LIGA MX side will be hoping that striker Germán Beterame can step up once more, with the forward having found the net five times so far - he is currently the tournament’s top scorer alongside Lionel Messi.
On the other hand, the MLS side have been in an inconsistent spell of form. They beat the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 in their curtain-raiser, but were defeated by Club Tigres in the next game by a 2-1 scoreline.
Whoever comes out on top in tonight’s match will take on the winner of the clash between Club Tigres and the Vancouver Whitecaps.
