The 2023 edition of the Leagues Cup begins Friday, July 21, and runs through to the final on August 19. And for the first time in the event’s history, all 47 clubs in MLS and LIGA MX will be participating.
The group stage includes 45 teams divided into 15 groups of three. The top two teams from each group advance to the Round of 32. The defending champions of MLS and LIGA MX, Los Angeles Football Club and Club Pachuca, earn automatic entry into the Round of 32 and do not play in the group stage.
The first, second, and third-place teams will secure berths in the 2024 CONCACAF Champions League. Whichever club wins the tournament will automatically advance to the CCL Round of 16.
