The last matchday of the 2023 Clausura is underway. The battle to decide who will qualify for the Liguilla is still open, as well as which clubs can seal a place in the playoffs. Here's our three-game preview:
Monterrey vs. Pumas
Los Rayados are the overall leader with 37 points and they already have assured that they will play the second leg of the Liguilla at home. They had a great Clausura with 12 wins and just three losses, but the bad news is that two of those were in the last three rounds.
For their part, Antonio Mohamed's Pumas are in a fight to secure a place in the playoffs and they are very close. However, they need to get three points in Monterrey to confirm the good run they are on and seal a place in the Liguilla.
Cruz Azul vs. Santos
These are two teams that want to finish higher as they enter the playoffs and arrive in the best possible form. La Máquina are winless in their last three matches and will be looking to stay in eighth place or else they could drop down the standings, and into the play-in.
And one of the clubs that can move into the playoff spots is Los Guerreros, who are in eleventh place on 19 points. However, they will move up instead because Querétaro are able to qualify for the playoffs.
León vs. Tigres
This match is a confrontation between the sixth and seventh place sides in the 2023 Clausura. The hosts need a combination of results, but they have the possibility of qualifying directly for the Liguilla, while a victory for Tigres would give them a better place in the playoffs.
