The 2023 Apertura returned with a bang last weekend as we looking to see who will be the next LIGA MX BBVA champion. This weekend will see Matchday Six played, and all 18 teams will be in action. Here's our preview of some of the most exciting matches this weekend:
Club América vs. Club León
This match pits the sixth and seventh place sides and they're coming off a weekend that was very different for both of them. While the Águilas won 3-2 against Necaxa, León lost 3-0 on their trip to Atlético San Luis.
Pumas vs. Club Tigres
After Leagues Cup 2023, returning to Liga MX has been difficult for Los Universitarios, after a bitter draw at home against Toluca and a big defeat on the road against FC Juárez. Now they will host the current champions in a duel that always brings to mind that final they played in the Apertura 2015.
CF Monterrey vs. Cruz Azul
Matches between Rayados and Los Cementeros are always very exciting. The hosts are coming off a great performance in Leagues Cup and will be back in league action against La Máquina, who urgently need a win to get back on track.
