Chivas created more chances, spent much of the night attacking around the FC Dallas penalty area and consistently found space out wide. But despite Guadalajara’s pressure, the decisive final touch never came. Dallas remained compact, defended in numbers and looked to strike quickly whenever Chivas turned the ball over. The result was a frustrating night for the Rebaño, which was eliminated from Leagues Cup 2026 despite controlling much of the attacking play.
Chivas had opportunities to take control of the match, but its finishing repeatedly let the team down. Miguel Gómez missed a golden opportunity after a deflected pass fell to him inside the box, while several other promising attacks ended without testing the goalkeeper in the first half. Dallas, meanwhile, remained dangerous in transition and nearly capitalized on a defensive mistake before the break. The second half followed a similar script, with Guadalajara pushing forward and Dallas staying disciplined as it absorbed the pressure.
That was when Jonathan Sirois took over. The FC Dallas goalkeeper produced a string of outstanding saves, controlling rebounds and repeatedly denying Chivas as the pressure intensified. His biggest moment came early in the second half, when a brilliant reaction save kept the match scoreless. Dallas continued to withstand wave after wave of pressure, with Sirois and his defense putting their bodies on the line while Guadalajara struggled to find a clean finish.
Eventually, Dallas found its breakthrough. Logan Farrington punished a series of Chivas mistakes to put the Texas side ahead and shift the pressure entirely onto the visitors. Guadalajara continued searching for an equalizer, while Dallas had opportunities to add to its advantage, including Petar Musa’s effort off the post following another costly mistake at the back.
In the end, Sirois and the Dallas defense held firm through the final whistle to secure another clean sheet and three valuable points. Chivas created enough opportunities to change the outcome, but Dallas was more clinical when its moment arrived — and Sirois proved to be the difference-maker when his team needed him most.
