While a much-anticipated rematch of the 2023 Leagues Cup final between Inter Miami CF and Nashville SC only yielded a scoreless draw, there was no shortage of excitement elsewhere in the league, as thirteen matches took place on Wednesday night.

Atlanta United 1-2 FC Cincinnati

After conceding ten minutes into the match, the visitors battled back with two second-half strikes, from Luciano Acosta and Brandon Vazquez, to keep a firm grip on top spot in the Eastern Conference.

Charlotte FC 1-1 Orlando City

In a hard-fought draw, both teams scored in the match’s last ten minutes, as Enzo Coppetti struck from the spot before Martín Ojeda snatched a point just before full time, allowing Orlando to move into third place.

Inter Miami CF 0-0 Nashville SC

The hosts’ good form encountered its first setback as Tata Martino’s team were unable to break down a heavily-rotated Nashville team. In a rematch of the Leagues Cup final, both teams had good chances, but neither were able to make a breakthrough.

New England Revolution 1-0 New York Red Bulls

Giacomo Vrioni scored the game’s only goal midway through the first half, as New England won for the third time in four matches to reach second place in the Eastern Conference.

Toronto FC 3-1 Philadelphia Union

In one of the shock results of the evening, the hosts turned in a comprehensive performance to beat visiting Philadelphia. Toronto remain in last place, but will feel good having snapped a ten-match losing streak across all competitions.

New York City FC 2-0 CF Montréal

Matt Freese, newly installed as the starter ahead of Luis Barraza, made three saves and kept a clean sheet that allows the hosts to move within three points of a play-in place.

Chicago Fire FC 0-1 Vancouver Whitecaps FC

The in-form duo of Brian White and Ryan Gauld combined for the match’s only goal to help Vancouver to their fourth win in five in the league.

St. Louis CITY SC 2-1 FC Dallas

With all three goals coming in the match’s last ten minutes, this encounter was every bit the thriller most would have expected, but a win for the hosts saw them expand their lead at the top of the Western Conference to seven points.

Minnesota United FC 3-0 Colorado Rapids

Emanuel Reynoso scored a brace, building on his strong form in Leagues Cup as the hosts kept their five-match unbeaten run going against bottom side Colorado Rapids.

Houston Dynamo FC 2-0 Columbus Crew

Surging Houston won their third straight match to go within two points of second in the Western Conference thanks to goal from Corey Baird and Aliyu Ibrahim.

Austin FC 1-2 Seattle Sounders FC

Albert Rusnák came off the bench at halftime and scored a stoppage time winner for the visitors, who won for the first time in five matches in the league.

Portland Timbers FC 2-1 Real Salt Lake

Santiago Moreno scored and set up Felipe Mora to help Portland stay in the chase for the playoffs in a tightly-packed Western Conference.

San Jose Earthquakes 2-3 LA Galaxy

The Galaxy are one of Major League Soccer’s form teams, and while they are still outside of the playoff picture, their fourth win in five, away to San Jose was another impressive result.
