LIGA MX is back after Tigres took home the title in the Clausura. Three rounds will be played before the league takes a break for Leagues Cup 2023 beginning on July 21. Here's our preview of four key games from the first round of the 2023 Apertura.

Club America vs. FC Juarez
The hosts will come into this match with a thirst for revenge after what happened in the 2023 Clausura. They will not have Luis Malagón in the goal or Henry Martín will not be in attack, as both are participating in the Gold Cup. Juarez will be eager to get back to winning ways after a frustrating end to last season.

Club Tigres vs. Club Puebla
The champions come into this match hungry to keep the title. They remain a powerful team and have continued with the Robert Dante Siboldi project. But they will take on a La Franja that have made some changes this summer and  are always a very difficult opponent.

Atlas FC vs. Cruz Azul
The play-in duel from the previous tournament is being replayed here in Guadalajara. Los Rojinegros are very hungry, but will take on a La Máquina side who have been busy this summer, signing several reinforcements.

Club León vs. Chivas de Guadalajara
The duels between these teams are always very entertaining. Los del Bajío arrive as the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League champions, while the Rojiblancos are dreaming of another title themselves.
