Leagues Cup 2024 East 1 action kicks off Saturday at Gillette Stadium when the New England Revolution and Mazatlán square off in an attempt to end the rough patches both teams are currently in.

The Revolution have gone four consecutive matches without a win, after a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas in their most recent domestic match. Due to injuries, they played without two of their best attackers, Spaniard Carles Gil and Albanian Giacomo Vrioni.

Caleb Porter's team is at the bottom of Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference table with 23 points in 23 games and have scored the fewest goals so far this season.

Los Cañoneros are living a similar situation in LIGA MX, unable to win in the Apertura through four games. They lost 2-0 to Chivas in Guadalajara and the only point they have was the result of a draw against San Luis.

Mazatlán has failed to score in the Mexican league away from home and has allowed six goals in three games. Its conceded at least one goal in its last seven games.

In last year's tournament, Mazatlán finished the group stage undefeated, but was eliminated in the Round of 32 by FC Dallas. New England finished second in its group and was knocked out in the Round of 16, losing on penalties to Queretaro.

The next match in East 1 will be Mazatlán against Nashville SC on Wednesday at Geodis Park, while the Revolution face Nashville at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 6.
