Mazatlan in Leagues Cup: the young prospect and the star to follow

The Cañoneros are a newly formed side that was established in 2020 after the Monarcas Morelia franchise announced that it would be moving to the city of Mazatlán. The team currently plays in LIGA MX, the topflight of Mexican football. Nicolas Benedetti and Andras Montaño will be the two players to watch out for on this team.

Mazatlan FC are still trying to find their feet and establish themselves as a legitimate threat in Liga MX. They previously finished rock bottom in the general table in the 2023 Clausura Tournament of Liga MX. They are a new club with no trophies, so they have it all to prove at the 2023 Leagues Cup.

The Mexican side will take part in **South 1**, alongside Austin FC and FC Juarez. Their first match will take place on July 21 against Austin FC the day the competition begins at Q2 Stadium, 7:30 p.m Austin time.
